Biomedical engineer knows her technology and her business
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Maria Bennett is attending a White House briefing and a reception on Capitol Hill this afternoon — not the usual activities of a biomedical engineer-turned-CEO.
Bennett is being honored by Springboard Enterprises in Washington for her entrepreneurial leadership of SPR Therapeutics LLC, a medical device developer recently spun out by NDI Medical LLC in Highland Hills.

NDI Medical: a testament to talented alumni
The 124th Annual All Classes Reunion will be history by the time you read this issue of the Case Alumnus. That means that we as an association are entering into our 125th year! The Case Alumni Association plans a yearlong celebration for this momentous milestone. The kick-off to the events will occur during the Alumni Weekend of October 22-25, 2009. There will also be individual events during the winter and spring, with the major celebration occurring at the 125th Reunion in May 2010. We will advise you of the details as they are finalized.

NDI Medical raises $4 million to incubate more neuromodulation technologies
HIGHLAND HILLS, Ohio — NDI Medical LLC has raised $4 million to continue developing nerve-stimulating devices to answer patient needs and improve their health care.
Formed in 2002, NDI incubates neuromodulation devices, eventually spinning them off by selling them or setting up separate companies to take them to market.

NDI Medical sells device to Medtronic for $42 million
A small Cleveland company developing neurostimulation technologies has sold one of its devices to medical technology giant Medtronic Inc. for $42 million.
Highland Heights-based NDI Medical plans to reinvest the money into product development, said Chief Executive Geoff Thrope. The company and its 25 employees will remain in the Cleveland area.
